Dr. Carmouche is a Baton Rouge native and completed his medical education at LSU-New Orleans. He then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for his internship and residency in internal medicine, where he later served as Chief Medicine Resident in 1996-1997. He is board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine and joined the Clinic in 1997. Dr. Carmouche has since achieved the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology as well as Specialist in Clinical Hypertension.
He now serves as the director of the Center for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention at the Baton Rouge Clinic and provides specialty-level care for complex hypertension and lipid disorders. While Dr. Carmouche welcomes the opportunity to provide specialty care in the area of complex hypertension and lipid disorders (blood fats and cholesterol), he is no longer accepting primary care patients.
