Barbara Carley, Diabetes Nurse Educator, RN, CDESpecialist in Nutritional and Diabetic Education7373 Perkins Road Barbara Carley received her RN degree thru Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing. She then served in the Army Nurse Corps for two years. Ms. Carley started her nursing career in homecare, and saw the need for education and the counseling of diabetic patients. She has been a diabetes nurse educator since 1993, specializing in pediatric diabetes management at Tulane University Hospital for 10 years. Ms. Carley joined the Baton Rouge Clinic in September of 2007, and is a member of the local and national chapters of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She continues to counsel young diabetic patients by volunteering at the Diabetes Summer Camp. |
