Dr. Mena has been practicing clinical Rheumatology and Internal Medicine in Baton Rouge for the last 31 years and prior to that for 4 years teaching at Michigan State University. His medical degree is from the University of Costa Rica. He trained at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, University of Texas in San Antonio and his fellowship in Rheumatology was done at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and assistant professor of medicine at Louisiana State University. He has been in charge of training the family practice residents of the Baton Rouge General Residency Program for 10 years. His interests are clinical care of inflammatory arthritis, graduate education and clinical research.  |
